Linda Laraine Ormiston, of Lexington, passed away on June 24th, 2021. She is predeceased by her devoted husband Stephen W. Ormiston and her father Adam Adams. She is survived by her mother Alice Adams of Lexington, her daughter and son-in-law Melissa and Russell Lariviere of Woburn, her son and daughter-in-law Shawn and Amanda Ormiston of Groton, her brother and sister-in-law James and Margaret Adams of Pocasset, her brother Dennis Adams of Lexington and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins. Linda moved to Lexington from Somerville at the age of ten. Her family owned and ran Scribner's Market, a long time grocery store and beloved Lexington institution on Mass Ave. Linda grew up working in the store alongside her parents and brothers. Linda's heart was truly in Lexington. Four houses up from her childhood home on Charles Street lived Stephen Ormiston. Linda and Stephen attended school together, fell in love and then married. They moved into Stephen's childhood home and were happily married for thirty-nine years, raising their two children, surrounded by family on that same Lexington street where it all began. Linda worked as a teacher at Arlington Heights Nursery School where she lovingly cared for infants and children. She was beloved by parents and fellow teachers and those in her care were the luckiest children in the world. At home, Linda loved animals, especially cats and her garden and flowers. Family and friends were treated to Linda's expertise in the kitchen, especially around the holidays when she made her famous baklava. Linda's home was impeccably decorated and most importantly filled with love. When Linda needed to get away, she headed for the seashore where she loved the beach and the sound of the ocean waves. But she was happiest when she was with her family and celebrating life. Linda was the most loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, mother-in-law and friend. She had the kindest soul and warmest smile and the best hug. Hearts are broken at her passing and she will be forever missed. A Graveside Service will be held on June 30th at Westview Cemetery, 520 Bedford St., Lexington at 1 p.m. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the American Liver Foundation, 188 Needham St., Newton, MA. 02461 or at
