David Dodge Obituary

David Williamson Dodge of Marblehead, passed away in Fort Myers with his family by his side on March 21, 2015. Beloved husband of Suzanne Messervey Dodge of 58 years, and Son of the late Luke Perley and Catherine Pullar Dodge, and brother of the late Ralph Thorndike Dodge. Loving father of the late David Dodge Jr., Susan Dodge and her children Nadine and Luke, Andrea Dodge and her children Matthew, Noah, and Catherine, Kathleen Dodge Bingham her children, Benjamin and Hannah. For most of Davids working career he was a firefighter for the town of Marblehead where he served with distinction until his retirement in 1996. David also was a master craftsman making the homes of Marblehead beautiful for decades. David was a lifetime member of the Gerry Veteran Firefighters Association. Since retirement David and Suzanne spent their winters in Fort Myers, Florida where they enjoyed frequent visits from family and friends. Being native Marbleheaders, they always returned home every summer to enjoy spending time with their family. David and Suzanne loved to travel together on their yearly trips to Ireland, the coast of Maine, Key West, and cruises with their PP friends throughout the Caribbean Islands and Mexico. A Celebration of Life Memorial will be held at Gerry VFA in late June.

Please join us for a Celebration of Life Memorial at the Gerry 5 VFA on Friday June 19th at 1 pm. My Dad's asked will be placed in a grave that morning overlooking the water of Salem Harbor, close to where he has been residing for the last 4 years in the summers with Mom. Please join us ! From His loving wife and daughters

I am so sorry for the loss of such a hero and artist. My heart goes out to the Family of another great Man. There is no way to replace such sacrifice and bravery. The world needs more men like David.
