My name is Paula Barone I knew Dr. Engel for over 20 yrs. Threw my life I have seen many Dr.and still due. Doc was the very best and he taught me how to live life in different ways. He has a way of letting you search yourself to come up with the best solution that you could. Drugs have never been my type of treatment. He gave me a book to read called "Who Stole My Cheese". He always tried to simplify things. Doc would say "If you lead a horse to water what happens, He eighth Drinks or Dies" I found him to be a great guide to show me inner solutions to everything no matter how big or small. So now my Doc you are continuing your journey beyond time. Your brightness will always shine

I was lucky enough to know and work with Dr. Engel for a short period. Its an unimaginable loss for the community. My prayers are with his family and people whose life was touched by him.

My thoughts are with you all. I cannot begin to comprehend the enormity of this loss: for you, his patients, the community and his hospital family. Mike was truly an exceptional man and physician. I was fortunate enough to be Michaels secretary for a few years at Pembroke Hospital. I know how much he will be missed by his family and those he cared for in his practice. With a broken heart I wish his family well through this difficult time. God bless you Michael.......

The sudden passing of Dr. Engel has had a profound effect on his coworkers at Pembroke Hospital. And though I didn't know his as well as others, I will always remember him for his dedication and compassion to the patients he served. May he rest in peace and his family find solace in the days ahead.
