Ryan Schroeder Obituary

Ryan P. Schroeder, of Essex, Vt., passed away on February 1, 2018 at the age of 26. Ryan was the immeasurably beloved first born son of James E. and Anne D. (Dargin) Schroeder of Duxbury and dear brother of Benjamin D. Schroeder of West Hartford, Conn. and Emma A. Schroeder of Washington, D.C.; grandson of Doris (Fleck) and the late Dr. Otto Schroeder, DVM and the late Attorney John F. Dargin, Jr. and Sarah (Blackwood) Dargin. Ryan also leaves many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Ryan is a 2010 graduate of Duxbury High School, where he was Varsity Hockey Captain. He went on to graduate with a B.S. in Business from St. Michaels in 2014. At the time of his premature death, Ryan was attending a conference in Baltimore, Md. on behalf of his employer, Vermont Information Processing of Burlington, Vt.. From the time he began running at ten months old, Ryan was in perpetual motion, energetic, and ever curious. He had the ability to light up a room with his warm smile and genuine personality. He loved his family deeply and always made sure his love was known, never ending a phone call without saying I love you. To his parents he was an ideal son, an inspiration, and a never ending source of joy. To his sister and brother he was a protector, a guiding force, and a best friend. A lover of the outdoors, Ryan was an avid skier, snowboarder, wakeboarder, hiker, and aspiring fly fisherman. A force of nature with a bold and playful spirit, Ryan was blessed with the ability to live life fully. From Duxbury to Vermont, he was in constant pursuit of the good life, pulling people into his world and and creating friendships that became family. Once a friend of Ryans it was a lifetime gig; as his many childhood friends can attest. Forever sending out calendar invites and planning vacation itineraries, Ryan always pushed his friends to make the most of every minute. Working and living with two of his best friends in a field he was passionate about, he spent his time playing sports, planning game nights, and drinking craft beers. He knew how he wanted to live his life and created it in the Green Mountains of Vermont.
