Evan Garnett Obituary

Evan S. Garnett, age 27, died in a fatal car crash on January 30, 2021. He was the son of Steven and Linda Garnett of Franklin, Ma. He is survived by his parents, his sister Lara of Watertown, brother Adam of N.Y., and April of Tempe, AZ. He is also survived by the love of his life, Kaylie Boyd, and 2 month old Kenzie Rose, of Attleboro. He has many aunts and uncles and cousins from California to Maryland to N.Carolina, and New Hampshire. Evans easy going personality connected him with people from all walks of life. As a boy he played soccer and violin. He loved the outdoors so violin didnt last, but as an adolescent he jammed electric guitar with a best friend Cameron Kuzmick up the street. An area behind our house was like a throwback to the 50s, and his troop of friends would play ball or ride bikes on the quiet street, or make a soapbox car and ride it down Longhill St. till the wheels fell off. Every Friday night in the summer was a campfire and at the Bindings with his buddy Shane and Lacey and sister Lara. They were behind our house and would jump the fence daily to play. Both of our families built treehouses for the four of them. There was a 15-year gap in age between Evan and his brother, but it was rather cool when Adam drove him to school sometimes. I would watch two generations practice hoops , Evan loved imitating his brother on his 3ft. hoop when he was two. When his brother was in college in Boston, he had a job at Fenway Park as a vendor hawking food. When Evan got older, he too, got a vending job and worked near his brother. He would take his bike and catch the Franklin train to Boston after school, then bike down Boylston to the Park. Evan is soft spoken, and had to practice screaming 'get your pretzels!! Get your dawgs !!!' At home. And boy ,did they see some Red Sox history! Evan especially liked going to his Grampa's cabin on Lake Winnie in N.H. Thats where he learned to swim , dive, row, and experience 'the Weirs' in Laconia. Thats when there was the real boardwalk . Evan used to be stunned by the tattoos on people then! He drove the little racing cars loved the arcade games. His big brother and sister got together and played a game of throwing balls in 3 grouch trash cans before the lids shut. They kind a gamed it by not stopping and continually throwing and laughing. The tickets kept printing out more and more. Yet when they went to collect a prize they agreed to go the next year for the 'Biggest' prize! After graduating from Franklin High, Evan worked at Merrimack Bldg. Supply and also U.PS. His desire to be outside led him to many landscape jobs, including Lawn King of Norfolk, and Hawkeye corps of Ashland. Evans best friend Kyle Mckearney opened his own Small Engine Repair of Natick and employed Evan there. Kyle was a whiz working on cars, and Evan was a good apprentice. Together they replaced engines, brakes, the gamut. They rode dirt bikes together and were looking forward to Spring with their recently purchased motorcycles. A Moms nightmare. After the birth of his daughter, Kenzie, Evan got work at FedEx where his friend Cameron is a manager. His life was stabilizing and he was with his two loves, Kaylie and Kenzie. As he said after witnessing the babys birth, 'Shes beautiful and I cant wait to live this new chapter of my life with her!' Kyle Mckearney organized a fundraiser Evan Garnett for Kaylie and Kenzie We will all miss Evan so much and its crazy that all this happened he will be missed. I dont think anyone will ever be able to wrap their head around this. Words cannot describe what anybody is thinking or feeling but as we are his friends we need to give them a life that he cannot help provide , its only the right thing to do pay it forward for Kenzie and Kaylie.
