Richard Doyle Obituary

Richard M. Doyle Jr., of Malden, MA formerly of Melrose, MA, son of the late Richard M. Doyle, Sr. and Eileen Tamposi, passed away at his home on Sunday, March 21, 2021. He was 59. Mr. Doyle was born in Palo Alto, CA and raised in West Roxbury, MA and Nashua, NH. He was a 1981 graduate of Bishop Guertin High School in Nashua, NH. He attended Boston University where he played rugby and graduated in 1985 with a BA in Political Science. He received his Juris Doctor in 1988 from the New England School of Law and was admitted to the Supreme Judicial Court of Massachusetts on December 13, 1988. At the time of his death, he was a current member of the Massachusetts Bar Association and the Massachusetts Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. For more than 30 years, he was a Criminal Defense Practitioner in the Trial Court of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts where he had the utmost respect of everyone in the court system and was known as a hard fighter for his clients but also as an honest, talented and skilled advocate, which his colleagues said made a big impact for all who were fortunate enough to be represented by him. Rich enjoyed traveling to Aruba and Ireland, summers at Salisbury Beach, his antique cars - especially his 1960 Red Cadillac convertible. Most of all, he loved spending time with his two daughters. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Kathleen Timony-Doyle, his two daughters, Margaret Eileen (Maggie) and Fiona Timony, his brother, Charles R. Doyle and his wife Jennifer of Olympic Valley, CA, his sister Katharine Doyle-MacLeod and her husband Michael of Hollis, NH, his sister Molly Doyle and her spouse Tommy Alexander of West Roxbury, MA and his step-mother Margaret (Peggy) Doyle along with several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. I am so shocked and saddened. Rich was a mentor, a friend and my boss for over a decade and even my lawyer. His love for his wife and children was formidable. We teased each other often but would sit and have very deep conversations. I will miss seeing him drive down massachusetts ave in his fancy cars, I will always remember being the best man at my wedding. Rest in peace Richie.

To all the Doyles:
I am so sad to hear of Richie's passing. I know all of you will miss his dry sense of humor, his outlandish opinions but most importantly his deeply-rooted love of family.
I will be thinking of all of you and send my love.

I worked with Rich for the past 16 and a half years at the Middlesex Defense Attorneys. He was always kind and helpful to me- always willing to help me out in Superior Court- but most especially in Malden when I had no one to cover. He was my buddy. And I'm going to miss him greatly. May he rest in peace. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

I rented office space to Rich for his entire thirty year legal career. He loved being a criminal defense attorney and always enlivened the office with his humor and spirit. I send my deepest condolences to his entire family.

To the Doyle Family

Please accept our deepest sympathies. Richard came in every day and zealously represented his clients. Additionally, he would take the time to check in with the many people who work at the court.

You are in our thoughts and prayers.

Sincerely,
