Many times Dick and I talk of life and death. Near the end I asked Dick, When you get to the other side I believe there's a window that sometimes let you reach out and touch us. Give me a sign when I'm playing Taps. Maybe reach out and tap me on the shoulder. On Memorial Day after his death I went to the cemetery to play Taps for him. When I reached the 4th note I heard a red hawk cry out. I looked up and the hawk was flying at low level just above my head. As it passed me it tipped it's wings at me. Anyone in the military knows this is what rescue planes do to let the survivors know they been spotted and help is on the way.
Thank you Dick
Your Lad Kevin

Dick
I will miss our coffee chats. You went to the Wall with me in 2011. Even though you were fighting the cancer, you came with me. You helped me so much through the years. I will miss you dearly, but know you will always be close to me when I need you.
May the road rise to meet you.
May the wind be at your back,
May the sun shine gently on your face,
And may God holdly in the palm of His hand, until we meet again.

Mr. Higgins,
Your advice and guidance to your boys sometime spilled over into my own life for which I am truly grateful. I will never forget the BB gun incident. You always had a smile and a kind word of encouragement, support, and spoke with wisdom shaping views and molding opinions in a way only a true gentleman can. You will be missed by all that have known and loved you.
With Deepest Sympathy,
Ian, Stephanie, Ava, & Jack Emery
