I wish I could have made the trip back to Massachusetts for Ricci's service. Unfortunately I could not, but if I did I would want to share some words at the church that go like this:
This is not a place any of us want to be right now—not for this reason
None of us saw this one coming, the loss of Ricci Lynn in our lives
It has been a long time since I have seen Ricci—much too long
I was blessed to have known her, my niece could light up a room with her smile, while she always had a physically beauty but her inner beauty was radiant
I am not big face book user but whenever I did go on-line—I would always catch myself checking on Ricci Lynn—it brightened my day!
She had an infectious smile…and then there were her eyes – her eyes could “lift up your world” with a glance
When we lose people it hurts—it wounds us—it puts a hole in our hearts—this wound is deep!
We have and will continue shed tears for Ricci for many days – it will help us heal
So feel free to let the tears flow—as I did while writing these words – each tear will help mend the hole in our hearts
Eventually the pain will lessen – but we will always remember Ricci and when we do -- she will “brighten our day and lift up our world” as she always did!

God bless you for bringing so much joy to the world. I know you brought joy to mine when you gave my brother Derrick and I your Gameboy when we were little kids. I wish we could have been closer.

Ricci,
I have known you since we were kids. We used to play in your clubhouse, go swimming in your pool and play hide n seek. My parents car pooled with you and I places. We lived a few houses from each other. We played, we laughed and we enjoyed life. You were always so kind to me. I was the only boy (that I can remember) allowed in your clubhouse. SO many childhood memories. Then we grew up and far apart. Even though we were hanging with different crowds, you were always nice to me and always smiling. AS we grew up, we grew apart but thanks to Facebook, we reconnected, talked about the good ol time and promised to catch up some day when you were "home". Well that never happened unfortunately, but please know, you were a ray of sunlight in MANY lives. You were always happy and you are the source of many of my childhood memories. I will miss you and your positive quotes and outlook on life. If our goal in life before we die is to be completely happy, I am POSITIVE, you have completely achieved that goal. May you now look down on your children and family, smile and watch over them. You were taken way too soon but I know you are still up there, smiling...loving. God Bless you my old friend, I will NEVER forget you and the days we had. You truly are ONE in a MILLION. Goodbye Riccilynn, enjoy your time reunited with your sister, I know you are still happy. Goodbye.

I've known you since you were a toddler. With the curly brown hair and a smile that made us preteens long for the day we had one of our own. I haven't seen you for years but remember the sweet soul you were. God Bless and "...until we meet again, may GOD hold you in the palm of his hands".

I always looked up to you in our school years. You were such a beautiful person, inside and out. I wish we could've reconnected in our adult years. Somehow I just can't find the right words. You would think with all the "practice" that one could...We may never know why such a beautiful- mother, friend, wife, daughter, sister, companion, was called so soon. What I do know is that was what you were...beautiful inside and out.
Distance has separated us, time flys by and seems forever but when we are forced to say goodbye to someone special, time is so very short. I will never forget our last conversations, our young freedom rides, our laughs & our cries. You will live on forever in our hearts & in your daughters' eyes. There are not many people I have met like her ~ Genuine, honest and true to their word. Her friendship was solid and lasting & it never mattered how many miles we had between us. Ricci would take me in . .in a moment's notice, give you the shirt off her back if asked and not question or judge a person. She taught me that faith, love & friendship make the world go around from an early age. When I was just a 6th grade trouble maker ~ she stood by me, always. I have carried this with me into adulthood & will continue to cherish her lessons on life & love until we meet again.

We will always miss you so very much Riccilynn! I already miss being able to send you a quick text to say hi or you sending me one, your messages on facebook, your sweet smile, adorable New England accent, etc... You are forever in our hearts.
