Dr. Elder Emily D. Stith Simon Sept. 13, 1944 - Jan. 5, 2014 Resident of Oakland On January 5, 2014 at 10:45 am, Dr. Elder Emily D. Stith Simon reached the triumphant end of her earthly existence from a lingering illness to peace and serenity. She fought a good fight and had been strong in her quest to sustain her life. Those who knew her are reminded of her farewell pleasantry; she would always leave you with, "I Say To You, LIVE!!! Emily was born September 13, 1944 to the late George Wilson and Dorothy Saunders Stith in Norfolk, VA. She received Christ and was baptized as a very young girl as a member of the C. H. Mason Memorial Church of God In Christ, Norfolk VA. Emily later relocated to California, where she served her country in the US Navy, Treasure Island Naval Base. In 1972, Emily was joined in Holy Matrimony to the late Apostle and Bishop Leon Simon of Triumph The Church and Kingdom Of God In Christ, 5515 San Pablo Avenue Oakland CA, where she served as First Lady then Pastor and Shepherd until her passing. Emily leaves in God's care to cherish her memory, 3 brothers, George Stith Jr. and wife Virginia, of Oxon Hill MD, Bishop Ronald Stith of Norfolk VA, Wesley Stith of Falls Church VA, 4 sisters; Dorothy Stith-Thompson of Oakland CA, Elder Erma Morgan of San Pablo CA, Eleanor Saunders Watson of Guttenberg NJ, Kathy Menifee and husband Fredrick of Wylie TX.The Funeral is to be on Friday January 17, 2014 at 10:00am. and A "Wake" on Thursday evening, January 16, 2014 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. Both services will be held at Miraculous Word Christian Center 2723 San Pablo Ave., Oakland CA Where Dr. Bishop Samuel Robinson is the Overseer. Thompson Funeral Home, 9900 International Blvd Oakland CA 94603 has been entrusted to perform funeral services. Visitation and viewing will be held at the Thompson Funeral Home on Thursday January 16, 2014, from 2:00pm -5:00p. Interment will be at Rolling Hills Memorial Park Richmond CA 94803.

To my Beautiful Beloved Sister, Emily. I miss you terribly. You left way too soon however, the world is a better place because you graced us and shared so much of yourself so unselfishly. I really miss you so very much. I am so grateful to you for mentoring me and all of the time praying for me. It helped me to witness the real and true God in you. Thank you for encouraging me to persue the Ministry and to become an Elder. I am so glad you have gone to be with our Lord Jesus Christ which is what you've always expressed you wanted. My family and I were surprised and very saddened when we learned today, Wednesday, August 13, 2014, that Emily Simon has passed over six months ago. Funny, we live just around the corner and got no news of it. We just happened to be driving by her home on 59th Street and ran into Erma Morgan. We couldn't stop tearing. May she rest in peace. We will mail a condolence card this week. Another part of my childhood gone. May God Bless and Keep Thee, and Cause His Face to Shine Upon The and Give Thee peace. Oh how I love you, My Auntie Emily. My greatest memories are of the love you and Uncle Simon shared. It was a marriage that served God. Two soldiers for Christ. How we loved each other, the stories we share over the phone. Good stories. The laughter, we loved to laugh together. How no matter what or where you were you took my call.
