James Gallahue Obituary

James F. Gallahue Jr. of Plymouth formerly of Weymouth passed away at the age of 79 on Oct. 11 at his home. He was born in Quincy and had lived in Weymouth for 54 years prior to moving to Plymouth. James was an electrician with Local #103 for over 50 years. He was a member of the Weymouth Elks, Knights of Columbus in Weymouth, Town River Yacht Club in Quincy and Cold Spring Athletic Club in Plymouth. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. Beloved husband of Virginia M. (McCarthy) Gibbons-Gallahue of Plymouth and the late Geraldine L Gallahue who passed away in 1983. Loving father of Maryrose and her husband Warren Chip Grady of Mashpee, James F. Gallahue III and his wife Jeanne of S. Weymouth, Judy and her husband Ken Ketterer of Rockland, Laurie and her husband Steven Nigro of Rockland, Patricia and her husband Dan Pierce of Rockland, Patrick PJ and his wife Kim of Whitman, father of the late Joseph Gallahue. Grandfather of Ryan Lucier, Megan, Joey Grady; Brian, Taylor and Taryn Ketterer; Steven, Devin Nigro; Matthew Lorgeree, Jordan Pierce; Joseph, Alison, Emma and Jullianne Gallahue; John, Rebecca Gallahue. Stepfather of Charles Gibbons and his wife Sheila of Plymouth, Kathleen Fennell and her husband Barry of CA, Joseph Gibbons and Daniel Gibbons of Randolph, Christine and her husband Joe DiTullio of Plymouth and Mark Gibbons of Randolph and the late Gary Gibbons and James Gibbons. Step father-in-law of Nancy Gibbons. Step grandfather of C.J. Gibbons, Michael Gibbons, Nicole McMorrow, Jimmy Gibbons, Allison Connelly, Greg Murphy, Lauren Murphy, Sean Fennell, Kaitlyn Fennell, Shannon Fennell, Andrew Guarino, Chelsea DiTullio, Nicholas DiTullio, Anna Gibbons, Maggie Gibbons and three great-grandchildren. Son of the late James F. Sr. and Marion (Foy) Gallahue. Brother of Frank Gallahue and his wife Mitzi of Wakefield, Margaret Reed and her husband Jerry of Cohasset, his sister in law Joan Gallahue of NH and predeceased by Marie Brickley and Bob Gallahue. Funeral was from the McDonald Funeral Home, So. Weymouth at 809 Main St. (Rte. 18 opp So. Sh. Hospital) Friday, Oct, 15 at 9 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Francis Xavier Church, So. Weymouth at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Weymouth.
