Philip Carlisle Obituary

Philip H. Carlisle, 60, of Plymouth, MA, died July 12, 2013. Philip was born Feb. 20, 1953 to Robert and Lillian (Shaw) Carlisle. Philip was a lifetime Plymouth resident. He was always there to lend a helping hand. Known to many as a very kind and thoughtful man, Philip's clever quirkiness and sense of humor brought a smile to many. Philip worked as a lobsterman and loved to fish. He still had an active commercial fisherman license to this day. He was currently employed by Plymouth Public Schools as a bus driver. He drove children to school sporting events and field trips. Also, at times, to out of area, chartered school trips. He was an extremely safe, courteous driver, who enjoyed the school children immensely. Philip's greatest joy, which he expressed to all, were his two daughters, that he had with Colleen Cahill-James Carlisle, and his five grandchildren. He is survived by his parents Robert and Lillian Carlisle of Plymouth. He was the loving father of Jennifer Carlisle-Brunner and her husband, Tony, and Heather Carlisle and her fianc, Lou. He was the adoring grandfather of Bernard "B", Hayden, Nathan, Alana & Miss Charlotte, who lovingly referred to him as "Papa Phil." He is also survived by his three brothers, Robert (Bobby) wife Ruthann, Stewart, and John wife Karen. He leaves behind two nieces, Elisabeth and Leigh, as well as a great niece, Emma. He will be greatly missed and will remain forever in our hearts. Until we meet again dear friend. Services will be private. Arrangements by Bartlett & Santos Funeral Home, 508-746-3456.

Stewie and family, so sorry to just read about Phil...I remember fondly the days of football with Paul Urban but most recently my son enjoyed being on the varsity baseball bus when Phil drove them to games. Live whips by so fast and I just read about the passing. So sorry for you and your family, be blessed,

My dearest Dad, our love for you will always, always be there. Nothing can ever change that. Each hour, day that passes I hold my phone closely missing those texts and phone calls you made to me constantly. I have saved many of those messages. Holding on dearly, hearing your voice, your love and kind concern for us all. My heart hurts painfully, knowing we all needed, wanted more time together.
You will always remain alive to our family to your loving grandchildren. "B". Nathan & Charlotte are lucky to have known such a great man.
Hugs to you dear Dad,
Jennifer, Jen-Jen

Philip was in my 7th grade class and he was someone who could make you laugh. He was sort of the girls "big brother figure" and I certainly am sad to hear of his passing. Peace be with you Philip.
