So sorry to hear about Dick's passing. Got to know him when I was battling redistricting in Manomet many years ago and also when I was the chairman of the Build the Plymouth South Middle School committee. He was always kind, professional, and had a great sense of humor.

Dick recommended me as the first nurse's aid at Carver High School. We were part of the PC Region at that time, so I got to know him as a talented and giving man. I moved on to several positions within the school, thanks to his recommendation at that job fair in 1987. Sympathy to his family.

Assistant Superintendent Richard J. Silva provided me with opportunities to grow as a professional during my teaching and administrative careers in Plymouth. I owe my past and current professional successes as a result of Mr. Silva's taking the time to support my strengths and to encourage me to take on new and unexpected challenges that I did not feel prepared for at the time. Clearly, Assistant Superintendent Silva saw within me -- what I had not known about myself. I will forever be grateful. In addition to his professionalism, Dick Silva had a special spark that one rarely finds in individuals. He was always a pleasure to speak to and engage with during our professional encounters. Thank you Mr. Silva.
Sincerely grateful - Patricia L. Cosgrove
