Roger Fernandes

Roger Fernandes, 71, of Plymouth, MA passed away September 4, 2010 at Jordan Hospital in Plymouth. Born June 1, 1939, in Marion, the son of the late Caesar and Annie (Nunes) Fernandes, Roger was a beloved father, brother, and grandfather. Prior to retirement, Roger worked as a Laborer for L.I.U.N.A Local 721. He was an avid golfer, carpenter and WWII enthusiast. He loved the outdoors, walking on the beach and observing nature. Roger will be deeply missed by his three daughters: Paige Fernandes Brage and her husband Jon of Virginia Beach, VA; Robin Fernandes Woods of Aurora, CO; and Laurie Fernandes Barber and her husband Courtney of Plymouth. Roger was the brother of David Fernandes of Kingston; Kenneth Fernandes and Hilda Lopes of Plymouth; Rosalie Harvey of Vacaville, CA; Akeeyah DAffonso of Carver; Ann Huey of Hampton, VA; and Kathleen Yori of Rock Springs, WY. Roger also leaves four grandchildren, Marcus and Brandon Woods and Quentin and Brian Brage; an aunt Beatrice Pires of Marion; his former wife Delores (Ganeto) Fernandes of Plymouth; and several cousins, nieces and nephews. Roger was preceded in death by his sisters, Lillian Fernandez and Evelyn Daniels and his brothers, Bennett, Everett, Caesar, and Anthony Fernandes. Visitation will be at the Cartmell Funeral Home, 150 Court St., Plymouth, on Friday, September 10 from 5 to 8 p.m. A service on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at the Cartmell Funeral Home will be followed by burial in Plymouth.
