Frances O'Keefe Obituary

Frances E. (Healey) OKeefe, age 80, of Scituate, formerly of Hingham, peacefully at home with family, Jan. 2, 2012. Mrs. OKeefe was a devoted mother and homemaker; she took great pride in her family. She volunteered at Plimouth Plantation, where she did needlepoint for the historic village. Frances was the loving wife of 59 years to the late Thomas F. OKeefe and the beloved mother of Joseph and his wife, Lisa of Glastonbury, CT., Thomas and his wife, Joni of Scituate, Kevin and his wife, Kathy of Scituate, James and his wife, Emily of Hingham, Nancy McElaney and her husband Jack of Austin, TX., Mary Silveira and her husband, Genefson of Plymouth, Maureen Akhouzine and her husband, Mohammed of Quincy, John and his wife, Norma of Scituate, Paul and his wife, Jocelyn of Marshfield, and the late Christopher and his former wife, Janet of Winterville, NC. Mrs. OKeefe was the loving grandmother of 25 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was the sister of Mary Spezzano, Joseph Healey Jr., Margaret Balboni, and Claire Avery. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, Jan. 14, 2012 at 11 a.m. in Resurrection Church, 1057 Main St., (Rte. 228), Hingham. Visiting hours omitted. Interment at V.A. Mass National Cemetery, Bourne, MA. at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Frances memory may be made to the Hospice of the South Shore, 100 Bay State Dr., Braintree, MA. 02184. Joni, I am so sorry to have read about your mother in law. Of course I had never met her, but I know how a close family member's death can be difficult for all. My prayers to you and your family.

Okeefe Family very sorry to hear of Fran's passing. She was an outgoing fun living person. I remember her at 29 Fedelis Way Brighton, Mass. I also remember your home near the Ocean in Hingham
