John Richardson Obituary

John W. Jack Richardson, 63, of Scituate, passed away suddenly on August 2, 2018. He was the beloved husband of Melissa A. (Huntwork) Richardson, with whom he shared 38 years of marriage. Devoted father of Rebecca L. Guyer and her husband Wayne of Clifton Heights, Pa., David W. Richardson and his wife Samantha of Braintree, and Colby A. Richardson of Charlotte, N.C. Proud Papa to Jonathan, Jamison Koa, and Nora. Born in Quincy, Jack was a lifelong resident of Scituate, the son of Robert W. and Roberta I. (Smith) Richardson. Loving brother of Bill E. Richardson and his wife Jean of Scituate, Tom A. Richardson and his late wife Margaret of Nuremberg, Germany, and the late Karl S. Richardson. Jack is also survived by a wicked lot of nieces and nephews, along with a legion of countless friends. His love for music came at a young age, beginning with a drum set and continuing through life in the form of air instruments, of which he was a master. His greatest passions in life were his family, his boat The Acacia, and his motorcycle. A Jack of all trades, he enjoyed many hobbies and interests and will be remembered by his family as the coolest guy they knew. He was the owner of Parsons and Richardson Insurance Agency, and was involved with rare collectibles insurance. He was a five time past master of the Scituate Masonic Lodge, a 44 year member of the NSSA, and a trustee of the Widows Sons MRA. To Melissa and family, I am so sorry to hear about Jack today we had just emailed to get together just two days before his passing. Jack was a very special man, and yes the coolest guy in any room. I always thought of him as a dear friend and mentor and he was there for me at some tough times and good times. Jack will be missed and not forgotten.

,Just had a phone conversation with Jack on July 13th regarding the renewal of my collectible insurance policy. I first met Jack over 20 years ago. He was a honest, credible person always listening to one's questions and helping one make the best business decision possible. He will be missed by family, friends and clients. May God be with you and all that knew you!

Mel and family-we are heartbroken for you and the kids. I have so many fond memories of hanging out with Jack in my youth and he was a wonderful and corrupting influence on me. Will never forget the bottle rocket wars on the 4th of July and trips to skirmishes. He will forever be in our hearts and you will and your family will be in our prayers. Tom, Stacey and family.

Jack: Whenever you came into that darkened place called the BBC, somehow the whole atmosphere began to sparkle with your explosive smile and positive charm. We have to wonder whether it will ever be the same. Love to Melissa.
