Robert Tarantino Obituary

Robert F. Tarantino, 84, of Scituate passed away on June 23, 2017 at the West Roxbury V. A. Hospital after a brief illness. Beloved husband of the late Barbara J. (Blake) Tarantino, with whom he shared 61 years of marriage, he was the devoted father of Robert Tarantino and his wife Cathy of Attleboro and Diane Zeidman and her husband Michael of Plymouth; cherished grandfather of Ricky, Patricia, Stephen, Chris and Heather; great-grandfather to Sophie, Bella, Payton, Cash, Hannah and Isabella. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was a proud, honorably discharged USMC veteran of the Korean conflict. He was devoted to his family, his country and his beloved dogs Bella and Angel. His caring nature led him to a 32-year career with the Registry of Motor Vehicles working as an officer of Handicapped Affairs and involvement with the Scituate Council on Aging to ensure handicapped accessibility compliance. He also worked with the Braintree Police Department for many years. Visitation Thursday, June 29, 2017 from 8:15-9:30 a.m. at Richardson-Gaffey Funeral Home, 382 First Parish Rd., Scituate, followed by Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. at St. Mary of the Nativity Church, 1 Kent St., Scituate. Interment with USMC military funeral honors at St. Marys Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, kindly consider contributing in his memory to VA Hospital, 1400 VFW Parkway, West Roxbury, MA 02132, for the wonderful care they give to our disabled veterans. Dear Bob,
I smile every time I see someone in a scooter. I think of you and your headlights in your horn and especially your Mercedes logo. You are one of the best and I will never forget our friendship. Miss you, my friend.

Dear Bob,
You were always the life of the party. I, so remember your Mercedes scooter with the horn on it. That made our trips to the senior centers, most enjoyable for all of us. You are not forgotten. Rest easy my friend.

A great smile he always rememeeed me. When the DV plate 0 became available he called and offered it to me I said no thanks I wanted DV64 when he asked why and I explained to him he thought I was crazy today and since then I have kept DV64 and think of him every day my grandsons both play baseball and wear "64" thanks Bob

Bob, I have such fond memories of you. We would go to housing for the elderly and give our big speeches about safe driving. And you and your Mercedes motorized wheelchair flashing your lights and beeping your horn. They loved your one man show. Please know you are dearly missed. I hope you are resting in eternal peace.

Dear Bob, you and I worked well together. The elders loved your Mercedes wheelchair equipped with lights and horn. You will be sorely missed. Thank you for your service to our country and to the disabled. We had great times Bob and you made work fun. Have a safe journey and rest well as you are carried home in the palm of God's hand. Barbara, you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.
