David Bernard Obituary

David William Bernard - Navy veteran, engineer, gardener, genealogist, world traveler, proud father of six and grandfather of ten - died peacefully at home on Tuesday, February 25, 2014. A long-time resident of Sherborn, Ma. and, more recently, Walpole, he is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Kathleen (Sullivan), his children Martha (Bernard) Welsh and her husband Peter (Sudbury), Liza Bernard and her husband Brian Allen (S. Pomfret, Vt.), Susan Bernard (Bethesda, Md.), Sheila Bernard (Delmar, NY), Amy (Bernard) and her husband Scott Moran (Bolton), and Keith Bernard and his wife Linda Maggio (Columbus, Oh.); his grandchildren Madeline, Julia, and Katherine Welsh; Thomas and Conor Moran; Rachel Allen; Samuel and Reuven Schwartz; and George and Preston Bernard) and by other relatives and close friends. A memorial service will be held at St. Theresa's Church, 35 S. Main Street, Sherborn, on Monday, March 3 at 10 a.m. Family and friends are also invited to visiting hours the previous day, Sunday, March 2, also at St. Theresa's, from 3-5 p.m. Internment will follow the service at Pine Hill Cemetery, Sherborn, with a short reception afterward at St. Theresa's.
