Debra Tanger Obituary

Debra J. Tanger of Abington, died January 7, 2016, after a brief illness. She was the loving wife of Gregory C. Tanger of Abington, retired Weymouth Police Captain. She was the loving mother of Richard Betters of Canton and Jennifer Betters of Abington; and adored grandmother of 7. Her extended family included dogs, Misty, Molly and Maddie, and cats, Fluffy and Spaz. Debra worked at Boston Financial in Quincy and Braintree. She was a former administrative assistant and worked last for EOSCCA in Norwell, retiring in 2013. Debra enjoyed her motorcycle, fishing and hunting, gardening, cooking, travel to Aruba, the Patriots Super Bowl , the Masters Golf Tournament and the Kentucky Derby. A funeral service will be held at the Quealy & Son Funeral Home, 116 Adams Street, Abington, Wednesday, January 13, at 11 a.m. Visitation Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. Interment Mt. Vernon Cemetery , Abington. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Debras memory to the Shadow Fund, 500 Federal St., Andover, MA 01810. Greg,
I'm just as sorry as I can be to have learned of Deb's passing and not being there. Just got your voice message late last night.
It goes without saying that I would do whatever I can but, being gone till mid-May, that sounds like empty words.
Rest assured that I will call you when we return and we'll meet up.
God Bless her and may she truly Rest I Peace.

Greg, I am glad I was able to make it to Deb's wake. It was nice to meet Richard and his wife and also Jennifer. You have my prayers and those of my brother Fr. John Rizzo.
