Emma Wood Obituary

Emma Marie (Silipo) Wood of Rockland, died March 1, 2015. Beloved wife of the late Thomas T. Wood, she was the loving mother of Sharon Roberts and her husband George of Weymouth, Carol Davis and her husband Kenneth of Rockland, Nancy L. Martino and her husband Greig of Hanover and John T. Wood and his wife Sheila of Marshfield. Sister of the late Shirley Silpo Tucker. Emma Marie is also lovingly survived by 6 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Emma was the past secretary for the DAV in Rockland where she enjoyed sacrificing her time for the disabled veterans. She was talented when it came to crafts, she enjoyed ceramics, gardening, traveling and floral design. She and her husband owned a flower shop in Rockland for many years. Most of all, Emma loved her family, cherishing every moment she spent with her children and grandchildren. She will be missed by all who had the pleasure to have known her. Visiting hours were Thursday, March 5, 4-7 p.m. in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home, at 809 Main Street (Rte. 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital), South Weymouth. Relatives and friends gathered in the funeral home at 8 a.m. Friday prior to the funeral Mass in Holy Family Church, Rockland, at 9 a.m. Burial will be private. Donations in memory of Emma may be made to DAV Chapter 50, 57 Josh Gray Road, Rockland, MA 02370-1508. See www.Keohane.com for directions and online condolences or call 781-335-0045.

Hi mom miss you so much.Sheila Nicky and I went to yours and dads grave.Cleaned the whole headstone and left you flowers.I miss you and dad so much your are always in our hearts.

To The Wood Family,
I am so sorry to hear of your loss and would like to offer my sincere condolences. It's very hard to bear the loss of someone so dear and although there is little that one can say or do to take away all your pain, please know that you are in the thoughts and prayers of many. May you continue to assure your heart that Emma is safe in God's memory as you can read in his word at Malachi 3:16 and Revaluation 21:3&4.
