Marie H. Landers

Marie H. Landers, 87, of Hanover died suddenly Thursday, March 25, 2010, at South Shore Hospital in Weymouth. Marie was born in Wareham, Nov. 25, 1922. She was raised and educated in Wareham and was a graduate of Wareham High School. She lived in Hanover for close to 50 years. She was active in the Hanover Council on Aging, loved to play cribbage and thoroughly enjoyed her lunch dates with her dear friends. She was the bookkeeper for many years for her husbands company, Landers Brothers. For a short period of time, she also worked for the town of Hanover and Hatch Dental Lab. Marie loved to travel, having visited China, Japan, Africa, London, Denmark, Germany and many destinations in the United States. She will be sadly missed by all of the loved ones whose lives she had touched. Beloved wife of the late Preston A. Bud Landers Sr., she was the adoring mother of Karen M. Souza and her husband John, Preston A. Skip Landers Jr. and his wife Louise and Elizabeth Landers, all of Hanover; loving grandmother to 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; sister of Pauline Peterson of Belmont, Jens P. Henriksen and his wife Shirley of Florida and the late Carol Jackson of Alabama. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Funera services were held March 29.
