Ruth Sassone Obituary

Longtime Medfield resident Ruth S. Sassone passed away June 15th surrounded by her family. Born in Cincinnati, OH, Ruth grew up in Bar Harbor, ME moving to Medfield in 1969 to raise her family. Her greatest joys were her grandchildren and making holidays and events special for them. Being a proud Medfield school bus driver and avid bowler filled her life with many wonderful friends that meant the world to her. Ruth is survived by her husband Richard, sister Charlotte Skiff of Bar Harbor, ME, her children Jennifer (Baldwin) Reichert, Blair Baldwin, Suzy Baldwin, Scott Sassone and Paula (Sassone) Vogler. She is also survived by her nine grandchildren: Tim, Hillary, Brandt, Arick, Katie, Richie, Kelly, Kristen, and Kerri. A future memorial service will be held in Bar Harbor, Maine where she will be laid to rest. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society.

Mrs. S was my bus driver, neighbor, and friend. Her name crossed my mind, almost 25 years since I last took Bus #3 to school.

Heartfelt thoughts to Rue's family - we were next door neighbors in Bar Harbor and were best buddies growing up - including Bunny. I'm so sad to learn of her passing - Rue was the best - many good times and laughs were shared -a lovely person all away around. Condolences - Judy Etscovitz Borne

I am so sad to hear of Ruth's passing. I spent many days as a young child playing at her home. She was always kind and welcoming.
My condolences to the entire family.
