Bob was a special person; thoroughly professional in his work; a first class guy who married a wonderful woman, MK.
In addition to being a colleague, he was a best friend.

Dear MK and family,
My Uncle Bill Shield called this afternoon to tell us about Bob's passing. I'm so sorry to hear this. The picture of him is exactly how I remember him! I can't tell you how many times I have thought about all of you! My Mom & Dad (George & Eileen) cherished your friendship and always spoke so highly of you and your beautiful family. I know your kids wouldn't remember us, but we too, had fond memories of you & spending time with them as small children... and hearing about how they were all doing as they were growing up. My husband & I spend many summers over at Long Beach-Michigan City and always drive by the Mary Julie cottage when we're there. It's funny what a small world we live in. Your friend Mugs (& Jerry) Schreiber and I have shared lots of memories of your summers there. I know if my parents were still here today, they would have dropped everything and jumped in the car to be with you at the funeral. (you know they loved those road trips out east!) I'm sure they were waiting at the Gates of Heaven to Welcome him Home!
Know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. Cherish the wonderful memories of your sweet Bob, all the great times together and how much he loved all of you. He's sure to be missed by so many.
Sending Hugs and Irish Blessings to you all.
With much love and sympathy,
Tricia Sullivan Ross (oldest of George and Eileen's kids)
Sheila, Noreen and Kevin send their love as well.
