Richard Martins

Richard Martins, age 73, of Watertown for 45 years, formerly of Arlington, passed away on April 27, 2016. Beloved husband of 49 years to Lorraine (Hurd) Martins. Devoted father of Robert Martins & the late Maureen Martins Mehigan. Loving grandfather of Annalea & Jake Martins and Cameron Mehigan. Dear brother of Paul Martins and also survived by many nieces and nephews. Richard was born in Everett on June 25, 1942, he was a graduate of Northeastern University (B.A. 1965), Masters Suffolk University (1969). Richard is a retired IRS Agent. He was a former coach and president of Watertown Little League for 20 years. He will be missed by many, he was a true husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Admired by his childhood friends, his children & their friends, grandchildren & their friends as well as everyone in the community. He was well known for his kindness, generosity and involvement with youth baseball, hockey as well as spending quality time with his grandchildren. He was an avid lover of Boston sports and enjoyed sports trips. Funeral was from the Nardone Funeral Home, 373 Main St., Watertown on Monday May 2nd, 2016, followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Luke's Church. Burial was in St. Patrick's Cemetery.
