Daniel Moore Obituary

WAYLAND Daniel J. Moore, 77, died unexpectedly on January 13, 2019 at Brigham and Womens Hospital due to complications from a fall. He was born in Boston on August 28, 1941 the son of the late Michael C. Moore and Irene (Frates) Moore. Dan is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Pauline R. (Papouleas) Moore of Wayland. Devoted father of Michael R. Moore and his wife Donna L. A. Zinckmoore of Framingham. Step-father of Cheryl L. Fitzpatrick of Wellesley and Dawn M. Upton of Brockton. Cherished grandfather of Zachary and Kiahna Moore of Framingham; Ashley Fitzpatrick of Upton; Nicolle Fitzpatrick of Wellesley; Stephen Fitzpatrick of Worcester; Shantal Furey of Scottsdale, AZ and Nina Furey of Boston. Dan has been a lifelong resident of Wayland and graduated from Wayland High School. He had a long and distinguished career in serving the public and the community as a Firefighter/EMT for 18 years with the Sudbury Fire Department. He also served the Town of Sudbury on the Police Department as a Patrolman. He retired after 35 years as a Middlesex Deputy Sheriff with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and was a key individual in the establishment of the Crime Prevention Unit and served as a captain. While on the Sudbury Fire Department, he was one of the original participants of the EMT program. He was an active member of the National Association of Chiefs of Police; the American Federation of Police, the National Association of Legal Investigators and countless other organizations. Dan was the CEO and Founder of Bay Colony Investigators, Inc of Wayland and was still actively involved in his company. He enjoyed spending time at the shooting range and was an avid collector of antique cars. He was devoted to his wife, children and grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them. Visitations will be held on Monday, January 21, 2019 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Road (off Rte. 30), Wayland. On Tuesday, January 22, 2019 family and friends are invited to go directly to Good Shepherd Parish at St. Zepherin Church, 99 Main St (Rte. 27), Wayland for Dans Mass of Christian burial at 10:30 am. Interment will follow in the Moore family lot in Lakeview Cemetery in Wayland. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in Dans memory may be sent to the charity of the donors choice. I knew Dan both professionally and personally and was sad to hear of his passing today. We spent many moments talking about cars and law enforcement issues over the years and he was always friendly, helpful and engaging. You will be missed Dan. R.I.P. brother. Bill Bradford
