Noble Barker

Noble Barker of Hamden Founder and Director of New Haven Ballet died on June 10, 2010 after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Noble was born in Boston on Oct. 30, 1949. During his over 40 year career he danced principal roles for leading ballet companies including Cincinnati Ballet Hartford Ballet and Connecticut Ballet and choreographed over 50 repertory works for student and professional companies around the country. In 2001 Noble became the Artistic Director of the Pioneer Valley Ballet in Northampton Mass. and in 2003 he founded East Street Ballet in Hadley, Mass. In 2006 Noble returned as Artistic Director of New Haven Ballet which he founded in 1985. He is survived by his wife Ruth his daughter Eliza and his mother Neta and sister Allyson of Wayland, Mass. A memorial service will be held at a date to be announced.
