Warren Nottleson Obituary

Warren Jerome Nottleson Warren Jerome Nottleson HINGHAM Warren Jerome Nottleson, of Hingham, and Bonita Springs, Fla., passed away Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2010, surrounded by his family at home. He was born Oct. 9, 1932, in Iola, Wis., to Clifford Jerome and Edna Irene (Waller) Nottleson. He grew up in central Wisconsin, and graduated from Luther College (1954) with a BA in Business Administration, where he served as Senior Class President and was recognized in "Who's Who in American Colleges and Universities - 1954." He then served in the U.S. Army ('54-'56), in Germany. He married Carolyn Bernhard in 1963 and moved to Wayland. He worked for General Mills, and later Polaroid in Cambridge and Norwood, before forming his own CPA firm in 1990, which he held until December 2009. He earned Master degrees from Babson (MBA, '78) and Bentley (MST, '89), and became a CPA in 1983. He married Frances Winch in February 1997, and moved to Hingham. He adored his wife, Fran, and they enjoyed 13 wonderful years together. They spent time traveling, golfing, and boating. He enjoyed entertaining family, and friends here and at their winter home in Florida. He was a devoted and adored grandfather, always thinking of his 12 grandkids. He was famous within his family for his weekly 'Dear All' letters that were packed with articles and clippings from many magazines and newspapers. He was a voracious reader. He was a "people person," stimulating and enjoying conversations with all. He grew up on a small dairy farm, never losing his love for his farm roots. He loved to sing with a beautiful tenor voice, and was a regular member of church choirs. He was active in church, as well as organizations including Junior Chamber of Commerce, Cub Scouts, youth sport leagues, Hingham Harbor Committee, and President of the Meadows Condo Association, among others. He is survived by his wife, Frances Winch Nottleson of Hingham; his son Erik and wife, Irina Puscasu of Somerville; his son Eliot and wife Beth of Orange; his daughter Kirsten Nottleson and husband Neal Ashmore of Austin, Texas; his stepdaughter Pam Winch Wilson of E. Greenwich, R.I.; stepson Peter and wife Sarah of Wenham; stepson Grady, and wife Jennifer of Marblehead. He is also survived by his brother Neal Nottleson and wife Gerry of Racine, Wis., and 12 cherished grandchildren: Rosalia Nottleson; Marie and Zachary Nottleson; Josh and Jack Ashmore; Jacklyn and Ben Wilson; Ryan, Alex, and Andrew Winch; Cameron and Lily Winch; his sister-in-law Carol Heineman, and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Friday, Jan. 8, 4-8 p.m., at Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St., Hingham. Funeral services will be held at the House of Prayer Lutheran Church, 916 Main St. in Hingham, at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 9, 2010. He will be buried in at Paul's Cemetery following the service.
