Hey Everyone, my heart goes out to each of you. The years go by fast and then before you know it life takes a blessing. Our little nook on Mayo Rd will always have a fond memory of dodging Daves clippers and pruning scissors as we played games from yard to yard. Halloween will be inbeded in my memory for the special large candy bars Dave and you Natalie handed out to the neighborhood kids. Not to mention the favorite Eeyore that showed his face once a year on that special night. From my heart to yours!Pam Fennell SF, NM http://youtu.be/w_DKWlrA24k

Dave was one of the kindest people I ever met. His thoughtful hand-written notes, his attention to my daughter when she arrived in a strange new country as a little girl, and, for the Kiwanis Club as a whole, his leadership skills will be greatly missed. My condolences to the whole Garland family.

My thoughts and prayers go out to all the Garlands. I knew Dave from Kiwanis and my days in local and state politics. A keenly intelligent, unassuming and thoroughly decent man, he will be missed by all who were blessed to have known him.

I am thankful to have called Dave Garland, my friend and fellow Kiwanian. His dedication to the youth of Wellesley is an example to me of a man who deeply understood citizenship as an action word. Dave and Natalie served not only as doers, but as mentors, as good listeners and even better as wise advisers when asked. Besides his laughter, his singing at church, his optimism, and his smile, I will miss his special notes delivered by US post or email which hung on my refrigerator during the year when I was acting President of the Wellesle Kiwanis. May this Prince of Peace be at rest eternally after a year of steely, brave resistance to illness. Thank you, Dave, for walking the walk while talking the talk of "Love thy neighbor as thyself".
