Dr. Frigiletto was a wonderful obstetrician! It was a freezing cold day in December of 1973 that I walked through the front doors of the old Lying Inn hospital to meet Dr. Frigoletto. He would be delivering my baby girl. I had 100% confidence in him. Everything went smoothly and when I was holding my new baby, I remember his smile as he lightly pinched her nose. I would brag about him through the years as the first Dr. to operate on a fetus in the mother´s womb!

Dr. Frigoletto delivered my son in 1973 and my daughter in 1977..
I will never forget his kind words and his caring ways! I named my daughter Jennifer and I remember so well he told me his daughter had a doll named Jennifer... God Bless him...

I am just learning of the passing of FF and am deeply saddened. Although I haven't seen him in many years, I was fortunate to have worked under him at BWH from 1987-1993, up until when he left for MGH. Dr. Frigoletto always made you feel good about the work you were doing. We often spoke of our Italian heritage. My thoughts are with Martha and his girls and their families.

In 1968 Dr. Frigoletto was preparing for an in-utero transfusion and all went well, During the second transfusion the radiologist did not perform his part as well as Dr. Frigoletto thought he should and excused himself, took the radiologist aside went into another room and returned--then the transfusion went well! My daughter was born 6 weeks early and Dr. Frigoletto came to my room and we talked about "his" baby girl. He was such a caring man and gave me such confidence in his part of taking care of her before she was born and after. I will never forget him and his caring, supportive demeanor.

I was so saddened to just learn of the passing of Dr. Frigoletto. I was the practice manager at the old Lying-In back in the 70's until 1981 for the newly developed attending/fellow/resident OB-GYN practice and I could always count on Dr. Frigoletto for his clear thinking and guidance and sense of humor. His legacy will be the women he served and the children he brought into this world. His comforting demeanor could calm the most nervous of patients and even when he had bad news to deliver he was remarkable. I thank him for his service and his love of medicine. RIP.
My husband is Fred too so i used to kid him that I had Fred's wherever I was. He sends his condolences to the whole family too.

Thanks for sharing him with all of us. Our deepest sympathy.

Fred was my role model as I followed him by two years at BUSM and BCH and it was obvious he was bound to accomplish greatness in his future career.
In April 2015 while I performed a Joint Commission visit at MGH, Fred had a Face Time "reunion" with my daughter Anita, on her 46th birthday when he delivered her at BLI.
They both enjoyed the experience.
Thank God for giving the world such a wonderful Doctor.

Dr Frigoletto was my OB in 1995 and 1998 but he never forgot who I was. I work at MGH and would often run into him in the halls. He would always stop and chat-- even for just a moment. Sometimes he would "fill me in" on some of the medical issues he had over the years and other times he would tell me about his grandchildren. I remember way back when he had no grandchildren and he would say "If I EVER have any" with a big smile and I remember how proud he was when his granddaughter "Freddie" was named after him (even though he was so ill back then). He was such a kind man and a real fighter. I will truly miss seeing him and I'm so very sorry for your loss. What a wonderful person he was and you are so lucky to have had him in your lives. May he rest in peace--

Sincerely,
Julianne Casieri RN

Fred was my friend and colleague, and he delivered our sons. We worked together daily for years, collaborated on some projects that our peers considered significant, and we even got to be cover models for the New York Times Sunday Magazine. Fred founded an entire subspecialty of Medicine which is the rarest and most special professional accomplishment. Fred was smart, but practical, critical, yet humble and endlessly supportive. Everyone loved and admired Fred.

Martha and Family, Elaine and I and our sons share your grief and send you our deepest condolences.

Dr. Frigoletto exemplified academic medicine through his commitment to patient care, provider education, and lifelong learning. His prolific knowledge of obstetrics was matched only by his humility. He always took the time to say hello and show his interest in your work making every interaction feel special. His presence at MGH, in ACOG, and certainly in the lives of those who knew him on a more personal level will be sorely missed. But his legacy of genuine caring and intellectual curiosity will live on through his trainees and colleagues.

Dear Martha and family, I was saddened to learn today of Fred''s death . I had always enjoyed his company ever since we were residents together in the pathology department at The Lying-In with Shirley Driscoll. It was fun after he joined the MGH to reconnect with him and again enjoy his company and gossips in the corridor and at the lunch table. He will be greatly missed not only by his family and friends but by all his colleagues and patients. With my most sincere condolences to all of you, Tessa Hedley-Whyte

To the family of Fred Frigoletto, M.D.
I was Fred's next door neighbor in Fitchburg, MA. and only have fond memories of him and his brother Bob and his wonderful parents. I am saddened by his passing and want you to know that you are all in my heart at this time of loss.
