S. McLeod Obituary

S. Mildred Millie (Baggs) (Elder) McLeod, 95 years of age, entered life eternal at South Shore Hospital, Saturday, May 10, 2014. She was the wife of the late Harold McLeod, who died in 1999, and Robert H. Bob Elder; devoted mother of Judith Fuller of Weymouth, Robert H. Elder Jr. and his companion Ruth Schofield of Portland, Maine, and Carolyn J. Grannan and her husband Fred Grannan of Carmel, Ind.; stepmother of Douglas McLeod married to Carol McLeod of Florida , Donald McLeod married to Marilyn McLeod of Weymouth and the late Roberta Larmey; loving grandmother of June Simmons married to Mark Simmons of Weymouth, James Weaver married to Amy Weaver of Norton, Joan Weaver of Merritt Island, Fla., Robert L. Elder married to Karen Elder of N.C., Michelle DeRoche of Gray, Maine, Charles S. Elder of Cherbue Island, Maine, Deborah Drenzyk of Carmel, Ind., Heather Drenzyk of Westfield, Idaho, and the late Tina Elder. She is also survived by twelve great-grandchildren. Millie was predeceased by her sons-in-law, Russell Fuller and Jack Drenzyk. She was the sister of the late John and Herbert Baggs. She was the companion of Tony Dzengelewsky. She was born in Chelsea, daughter of the late Richard and Lucy (Murray) Baggs. Millie was an active member of the First Church in Weymouth and the Pilgrim Congregational Church, N. Weymouth. She was a retired nurse who received her nurse's training at Massachusetts General Hospital and McLean Hospital in Belmont. She was a longtime Weymouth resident and had resided at Adamss Cove, Newfoundland, for a period of time. A funeral service was held at the Mortimer N. Peck-Russell Peck Funeral Home, 516 Washington Street, Braintree, Wednesday, May 14, at 11 a.m. Millies cousin, the Rev. Robert Bradbury, associate pastor of the First Church in Weymouth, officiated. There was a visiting hour commencing at 10 a.m., Wednesday at the funeral home until the time of the service. Burial will be at a later date at the Belmont Cemetery. Memorial donations may be sent to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 60 Walnut Street, Wellesley, MA 02481.

Our sweet dear Millie will be missed. We have so many wonderful memories of our time spent with her. She has a "new" audience to entertain! She lived a long, full life and spread happiness to all she met. Love, Holly(McLeod), Richard and Olivia Ruark
