Walter Nordblom Obituary

Walter A. Nordblom, age 83, of Quincy and Weymouth, died peacefully, Saturday, April 5, 2014, at Quincy Medical Center. Walter was born in Boston, raised and educated in Dorchester. He was a graduate of Dorchester High School. Walter had lived in Quincy and Weymouth with his Delta Projects family for over the past twenty years. Walter worked for the Delta Projects, assisting in many of the day-to-day functions involved with maintaining their home. He enjoyed gardening, the ocean, and the beach. Walter loved baseball and was a dedicated fan of the Boston Red Sox. He was the son of the late Arthur W. and Olga (Peterson) Nordblom; nephew of the late Edward Nordblom. Also survived by his roommates, Jim and Peg, as well as many loving friends from Delta Projects and Rockland Day Habilitation. Funeral services were conducted at the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, 1 Independence Ave., Quincy, Friday, April 11, at 1 p.m. Reverend Heidi Johnston, Pastor, Faith Lutheran Church, Quincy, officiated. Visiting was held at the funeral home from 12-1 p.m. Interment Pine Hill Cemetery, West Quincy. Donations in Walters memory may be made to Delta Projects, Inc., 118 Allied Drive, Dedham, MA 02026.
