It has been over 40 years since I last saw and flew with Bob, but I still clearly remember what a pleasure he was to be with.

Bob, wishing you fair winds and a clear ceiling on your final approach. I still cherish memories of the Carroll house on Utica and the path in the back that led to the McDonough enclave on Montvale. However, I always enjoyed our chats at McDonough family gatherings. Many times over the years, especially when a situation or conditions were a bit shaky, I've recalled your telling of being outbound from Boston, flying into the face of a howling Northeaster in white-out conditions and joyfully discovering, much to your amazement, that the runway in Bangor, Maine was still in the same place you left it. Thanks, Bob, sleep sound.
