Betty Powers Obituary

Betty Lorraine (Johnson) Truax Powers (March 12, 1932 - May 9, 2025), beloved mother, grandmother and friend passed away peacefully on May 9, 2025 at the Wings Home surrounded by her loving family. She was 93 years old.
Betty was born on March 12 1932, in Bloomingdale, Michigan to Harry and Ethel Johnson. She lived a life marked by devotion - to her faith, to her family, and to the many friends who were blessed to know her.
A long-time and devoted member of Christ Community Church, Betty found deep joy and strength in her faith. She especially loved listening to Christian hymns, which brought her peace and comfort throughout her life.
Betty's greatest joy was her family. Her home was a place of love and laughter, where she welcomed everyone with warmth and kindness. She treasured time spent with loved ones and found happiness in life's simple pleasures - shopping, playing cards, and enjoying games of bingo with her friends. She also cherished dancing with her beloved husband, Richard, and together they created many joyful memories on the dance floor. She enjoyed traveling with her second husband Bill and his joking nature.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Deborah (Larry) Belden; grandchildren Theresa (Mike) Fuller, Tim (Cheri) Belden, Shannon (Dave) Mills, Kyle (Colleen) Meade, Shelley (Jesse) Larrabee and Kishelle (Shawn) Stahl; step-daughter Robin McAllister and her family; 12 great-grandchildren ; and 14 great-great-grandchildren.
Betty was preceded in death by her first husband, Richard "Dick" Truax; her second husband, William "Bill" Powers; her daughter, Connie Housworth; her son-in-law, David Housworth; and her parents, Harry and Ethel Johnson.
A celebration of Betty's life will be held on June 14, 2025 at Christ Community Church, located at 3370 113th Ave, Allegan MI. Visitation 11:00 am, Celebration of Life at 12 noon, Luncheon to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Christ Community Church or The Wings Home in her honor.
Betty will be remembered for her enduring faith, generous heart, and the joy she brought to all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and forever loved.

I've been away from Allegan 7 yrs but I still see you playing pool, cards & puzzles. Did we do dominoes? You were willing & we'd walk to the music nights on the grass. You always had family coming by & accepted sherbet when I came from store. Always smiling. Pool table your gift for our fun time at Sr house. I missed you here in TN but hope I'll see you again one day "Somewhere " loved your friendship. Thank you. Family, how she loved you and you knew Keep faith & let tears fall
