Donald Jorgensen

1945 - 2025

Donald Jorgensen passed away at his home surrounded by his family on Saturday, October 11, 2025. Don was born April 10th, 1945 in Allegan, son of the late Andrew and Naomi (Smith) Jorgensen and lived in the Allegan area his entire life. Don farmed his family's bi-centennial farm and was very proud of its legacy. In the early years, Don milked cows, did chores, then went to school. Through the years, Don raised dairy, beef, and pigs until his retirement in 2013. Don worked for Waanders Concrete for most of his career. He also served as the Cheshire Township Supervisor, was a licensed contractor, and on the side, he dug ponds, cleared land and did anything concrete related. His "happy toys" included his drag line, excavator, and bull dozer.

Surviving are his daughters, Sonia (Mike) Anoskey, Nannette (Robert) Lawrence, Chantel (Shayne Miley) Freeman, Tanya (Robert Bushart) Moore; grandchildren, Jacob, Heather, Gavin, Riley, Chandler, Trevor, Brandon, Courtney, Allison (Tyler), Zachary, Megan; 2 Sisters in Law, Nancy Jorgensen and Kristine Opas; a brother in law, Jake "Butch" Mowrey; and his loving furry companion, Tip.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Yvonne "Suki" whom he married September 8, 1967, a brother, Ronald Jorgensen and his sister, Margaret McCormick.

Following his wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of Don's life will take place on Sunday, October 19th from 12:30 - 3:30pm at the Hartman Center in Allegan. Arrangements entrusted to the Bloomingdale Chapel, D. L. Miller Funeral Home, www.dlmillerfuneralhome.com.
