Jeffrey Scott Carrier, known fondly as Jeff, was born on May 27, 1961, in Stuttgart, Germany, to Kent and Rolaine (Wagoner) Carrier. He passed away peacefully at home in Albion, Michigan, on Nov. 4, 2025. A proud alumnus of Albion High School, Jeff graduated with the class of 1979. He further pursued his education by earning his degree from Ferris State University.
Throughout his life, he diligently cared for the family farm since high school, always ensuring it was well-maintained. Jeff was a dedicated family man who cherished his role as "fun uncle" to all generations of his beloved nieces and nephews and godsons. He embraced the joy of childhood, introducing them to fishing, astronomy, kite flying, and countless other adventures. Family gatherings were notably filled with laughter and warmth, as Jeff earned the title of the "king of popcorn," delighting everyone with his knack for turning a simple snack into a shared family favorite.
As a teen, Jeff worked tirelessly to become an Eagle Scout in Troop 158, an achievement that was a significant point of pride for him. One of his fondest memories from his scouting years was winning the Boy Scout canoe race at the Festival of the Forks in Albion in the late 1970s, alongside his friend and classmate, Doug Mills. That victory remained one of his proudest accomplishments, a testament to his teamwork, perseverance, and adventurous spirit.
Known for his loving and unselfish nature, Jeff was always a source of positivity and hope. His upbeat personality touched the lives of many, making him a beloved figure with all that he met.
He is remembered with fond memories by his sister, Gina (Mike) Loveless; three nieces and nephews, Brittany Carrier, Kameron Loveless, and Alexander Loveless; four great-nieces and nephews, Makaila, Benjamin, Axell, and Lainey. Jeff is also remembered by his uncles, Paul Wagoner and family and Dave Carrier; close family friends, the Kreger family, Scott Blodgett, and a special friend, Liz Ridling, and family.
Jeff was preceded in death by his parents, Kent and Rolaine Carrier.
A Celebration of Life for Jeff and his mother, Rolaine, who passed on Oct. 30, 2025, will take place Nov. 21, 2025, on the first floor of the Ismon House 300 S. Clinton St., Albion, MI 49224 with a short service beginning at 4 p.m. and a time to fellowship and share memories until 6 p.m.
