Charles Anderson Obituary

Charles Peter Anderson, 80 of Mancelona and formerly of Bay City, passed away at home Sunday, August 24, 2025.

The son of Alfred and Opal (Martin) Anderson, he was born in Bay City on December 17, 1944. He grew up, graduated from high school, and worked as a toolmaker at Prestolite for many years in Bay City before later moving to Harrison. In 2005 he moved to Mancelona.

It was in Mancelona where Charlie met his spouse, Allen Pease, they married on November 17, 2015.

In his spare time, Charlie enjoyed gardening, playing the piano, and traveling. His friends and family will remember him for his social nature and sense of humor; he was always a jokester. He also enjoyed his volunteer work for Antrim County Meals on Wheels, for more than 15 years.

In addition to his spouse, Allen, he is survived by sisters, Christine Hildabrant of Manton, and Beverly Markel of Greenville, SC; and a brother, Owen Anderson of Houston, TX.

Charlie was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Ingrid Anderson, and Phyllis Priest; and a brother, Hartley Anderson.

In keeping with his wishes, his family will remember him privately. Please share your memories and personal messages with the family at www.gaylordfuneralhome.com/obituaries/charles-anderson
