Joe Jones

1924 - 2025

Joe "Cliff" Clifford Jones, age 101 of Farwell, passed away Sunday, November 9, 2025 at his home with his wife at his side. Cliff was born the son of Herman B. and Jewell D. Jones on July 1, 1924 in Memphis, TN. He was united in marriage to Nancy Zugay on May 31, 1974 in Detroit. Cliff served his Country in the Army in WWII obtaining the rank of Sargeant. He had studied Architecture at the University of Michigan earning a Bachelor's Degree. Following college he worked for General Motors, SaintCere in Livonia as well as Giffels and Associates. He designed schools, hospitals, factories and numerous renovations. He had moved to Farwell from Plymouth 32 years ago. Cliff was a faithful member of the Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church. He was also a member of the Farwell VFW and the Clare Farwell American Legion. He had been a Boy Scout Leader and obtained his private pilot's license; he loved to fly. He also enjoyed building model aircraft and camping.

Survivors included his wife Nancy; sons Stanford "Stan" (Debbie, deceased) Jones of Copperas Cove, TX, Kevin (Kim) Jones of Austin, TX and Steven Jones of Pittsboro, N.C.; his grandchildren Brandy, Joseph "Damian", Tristan, Clayton, Jennifer, Jessica and Alex; great grandchildren Dakota, Sierra and Darius who is presently in the Air Force and a great great grandchild Lilly. Cliff was predeceased by his sister Milly Cutini.

In keeping with the families wishes cremation has taken place with a Memorial Mass and Military Honors to take place at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church on Wednesday, November 19, 2025 at 11 A.M. with Monsignor Francis Koper officiating. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Clare VA Clinic. Arrangements were handled by the Farwell Chapel of Stephenson-Wyman Funeral Home.
