Rodney Hundey Obituary
In following with Rodney's wishes, cremation has taken place. A Private Committal Service will take place at Surrey Township Cemetery.
Rodney was born on October 14, 1942, in Alma, to parents Doran "Jack" and Arletta "Elaine" (Johnson) Hundey. Rodney was united in marriage to Sandra Wentworth on December 17, 1960, in Clare. Rodney had an amazing gift to fabricate and fix any type of machinery. He loved helping others in any way he could. In his younger years he enjoyed playing softball, running track, and going snowmobiling. He was the Assistant Chief with the Surrey Township Fire Department for many years. He was an avid deer hunter and enjoyed feeding the wildlife. Rodney loved mowing his lawn and helping drive the amish neighborhood kids around. Family was the most important thing to him, he was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Rodney was a proud man, not only of himself, but of his family, always saying "Hundey Strong." He loved and he was loved more.
Rodney is survived by his wife of 64 years, Sandra Hundey; children, Doug (Chris) Hundey of Farwell, Delene (Tim) Gallagher of Lake, Randy (Valerie) Hundey of Bay City, and Robin Hundey of Farwell; grandchildren, Eric, Kelli, Gina, Dana, Jaime, Ryan, Jared, and Olivia; great-grandchildren, Mia, Avery, Graycie, Zephyr, Kaylee, Jordyn, Raegan, Olivia, Hunter, Autumn, and Hazel May; siblings, Arden (Jan) Hundey and Kristie (Al) Leinonen; and many nieces and nephews.
Rodney was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Gaylord Hundey; and grandson, Matthew.
