Wilma Bowers Obituary

Marion - Wilma "Billie" Mae Bowers, of Marion passed away at home with family by her side on Monday, August 18, 2025. She was 93.

Billie was born on November 27, 1931, in Medina Twp, in Lenawee County, Michigan to Harold and Florence (Halleck) Foglesong. She attended Mt. Carmel College of Nursing where she became a licensed practical nurse and launched her into a long nursing career. Billie spent over 30+ years working as a nurse in Redford Township. On New Year's Eve in 2001, Billie entered into marriage with Joseph F. Bowers in Las Vegas, Nevada. The couple was able to spend the 26 years together creating memories as they traveled and eventually settled into their generational homestead in Marion. Billie enjoyed fishing, working outdoors around the home, and mother nature in general. In earlier years she could often be found singing and participating in karaoke wherever she could. Billie was recognized and awarded for her beautiful voice in Alaska, Florida, and Michigan. Joe and Billie have been members of Harrison Moose Lodge, the American Legion #404 in Harrison, as well as the Marion Eagles. She will be deeply missed.

Billie is survived by her loving husband, Joe Bowers of Marion; step-children, Tim Bowers and Kenny Miller; her sister, Edna "Eddie" Knyzewski; her brother, Robert Foglesong; grandchildren, Colton, Alex, Risden, and Chance; as well as many other loving family members and friends.

Per her wishes cremation has taken place and no services will be held at this time.
