Billy Upson Obituary

Billy Joe Upson
March 27, 1982 - April 22, 2025
Billy Joe Upson, age 43, died unexpectedly on April 22, 2025, at the Billings Clinic of Billings, MT.
Billy Joe Upson was born in McAlester, Oklahoma to Robert (Bobby) Lee Upson and Judy Kay (Luna) Upson, on March 27, 1982. Billy grew up in Canadian, Oklahoma for most of his life along with his siblings, George and Jennifer. Billy was the baby in his family and the apple of his mother's eye. He loved listening to his dad playing guitar and singing, which Billy took his dad's talents and loved singing and playing lots of different instruments for his children, guitar being his favorite choice.
Billy moved to Williston in 2018 with just his belongings in a bag, determined to look for a fresh start in life, succeeding in doing so and moving his children and Christine Hill (mother to Kandyce and Paytun) up to North Dakota, never looking back.
Billy and Alexis met in 2019 and soon after got engaged, adding a few more children and made a beautiful blended family. Billy and Alexis moved to the family farm in 2021 where Billy's wishes of fixing the hundred-year-old property up with so much inspirations and dreams. Billy and Alexis were married in August of 2023, adding the last child, a baby boy, that same year into the mix. He was very proud of the life he had made for himself and his family in just a short amount of time.
Billy loved everyone he met; you became best friends with him the minute of meeting him. He lit up every room he walked into and being the loudest in any room while drawing people into him with never-ending laughter. His favorite past time was just having all of the kids in the same room and watching movies or being outside doing things for the farm. He loved his family more than anyone can ever imagine. Billy was a one in a million, he wanted to help anyone he saw struggling and was always there to give you his advice, even if it wasn't very good advice. He was an amazing husband, father, son, brother and best friend. He is truly going to be missed by everyone that was lucky enough to meet him.
He is survived by his loving wife, Alexis Upson (Olson); his children Shawn, Mahayla, Kandyce, Paytun, Ava, Carmaline, and Brody; brother, George (Mandy) Robinson; sister, Jennifer (David) Rackliff; grandchildren, Jaxstyn and Addilyn Battles and Jaivyn Yang; and numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father, Bobby Upson; mother, Judy Kay Upson; baby nephew, Jesse James Rackliff; grandma, Helen Luna; uncles, Thomas Crumbley, Ralph Crumbley, Jimmy Luna, Raymond Luna, Leonard Luna and Johnny Welch; aunts, Caroline Luna, Brenda Luna, Donna Maynard, Carolyn Jones, and Melly Byce; and cousins, Cody Lee Luna and Karen Rhodes.
