Roberta Eileen Bjerk was born July 31, 1936, in
Williston, ND to Elmer and Cora (Maxwell) Bjerk. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. She attended local Williston schools, graduating high school in 1954 and she went on to San Leandro California School of Nursing. Roberta worked at the local hospital and clinic.
Roberta was united in marriage to Robert Borud on June 28, 1959. They shared one month shy of fifty years together. Bob's career in trucking moved them to many different cities and states, eventually settling in Williston in 1980. While Bob was trucking Roberta loved going on the road with him.
They loved camping and fishing trips with family and friends, especially when grandsons Andy and Danny would go with them. Roberta also loved to babysit. You just needed to give her a call.
Roberta was active in Our Redeemer's Lutheran Church, Women of the Moose, and American Legion Auxiliary. She loved and was faithful to her church.
Roberta is survived by her son, Rick, his sons, Andy and Danny and their mother, Char Borud; her daughter, Becky and her wife, Sheila; and her great grandsons (Andy's children), Lyrik, Sage, Logan and Maverick.
Roberta was preceded in death by her husband, Bob; her parents; sister, Lylas Bowman; and her niece, Barbara Cowin.
The family of Roberta would like to thank you for all the prayers, love and support you have shown us. Roberta was loved by so many. She was known for her hospitality as she always had coffee and cookies ready, her loyalty, but most of all for her love of her family and friends. Roberta always greeted everyone with her beautiful smile. She will be missed.
