My deepest condolences to Anna´s family and friends. I was a floormate of Anna´s during our freshman year at Syracuse University. I remember her as a very caring, sweet, intelligent, and faith-filled girl. She had a great sense of humor but unlike some of us, she also had her feet solidly on the ground. We lost touch after our sophomore year, but Facebook enabled us to connect again 10 years ago. In January she sent a message to a group of us from our freshman dorm. Other than Anna and her roommate Maryalice, I hadn´t been in touch with any of the others from our freshman floor. Anna connected us, and we had such a fantastic time, sharing memories and laughing with each other for the first time in 45 years. I especially loved Anna´s reactions to some of the old photos. I can´t share them here! We messaged about her family heritage, which I knew nothing about, and I told her I´d love to talk some time to learn more. That time never came. It always seems like we have forever, but we don´t. A week before she died, she sent me a recipe for Irish Bacon Cabbage and Potato Soup. She was always thinking about others. I almost reached out but got busy. Again, I thought we had plenty of time, and I´d reach out over the holidays. All lessons learned. Anna and her family are in my prayers at this difficult time. Eternal rest grant unto Anna, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. Rest in peace, sweet friend.
