Charles Roccaforte Obituary

Charles Reginald Roccaforte, a cherished soul for 86 years here on earth, passed away January 17, 2026, in Wimberley, Texas surrounded by his loving family. He was born August 29, 1939 in Houston, Texas to Nicholas Joseph, Jennie Mae, and big sister, Shirley Ann. Charles was a beacon of love who shared his faith with everyone he met.

Charles is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Patricia Ann, the proud daddy of Cary Ray (and wife Renee), and Catherine Rene Roccaforte; the cherished bonus father to Larry Richard Catt. He was blessed with his grandchildren Cory Ray (and wife Sarah) Roccaforte, Hannah Madeline Phillips, Jacob Nicholas Phillips, and honorary grandson Bobby (and wife Carrie) Catt. His heart grew even fuller with three amazing bonus great-granddaughters Brynlee Jordyn, Brielle Peyton, and Blakely Ember Catt. He's also left behind so many wonderful family members and friends. Please know that he cherished every single relationship.

Charles loved serving his community. Some of his many accomplishments included being a member of the Houston Jaycees, Wimberley Lions Club, and Rotary Club. The Boy Scouts of America benefited from his leadership and commitment for over three decades in Houston and in Wimberley, shaping the lives of young men who would become leaders in their own rights.

Charles was also a volunteer in the Wimberley Volunteer Fire Department and as an EMS Volunteer Dispatcher. His governance extended to the Wimberley Village Library Board of Directors and the Wimberley Water Supply Board of Directors, where he helped make pivotal decisions for the betterment of his beloved town for over 40 years. He also enjoyed his service as mayor pro-tem for the city.

Charles devoted 50 years putting pencil to paper to help people bring their dream homes to reality. He was a member of both the Texas Institute of Building Design and the American Institute of Building Design. He also won a national award for his design of the Wimberley United Methodist Church.

Charles was a true outdoorsman, loved to hunt with friends, and enjoyed sharing this love with his children and grandchildren. His commitment to conservation was evident by his four-decade-long loyalty to Ducks Unlimited as a member and director.

Charles took great joy in flying model airplanes with the best bunch of buddies a man could ask for... a true band of brothers. More than anything, the moments he treasured most were those spent enveloped in the company of his family and friends.

Charles was the bedrock upon which much was built - a man of strength and love for all whose lives he touched. His hard work, and faith that God was leading his steps, led to a life he could be proud of.

We know that Charles is safe in the arms of his Savior... happy and healthy and surrounded by family and friends that have preceded him in death.

The family will be forever grateful to the staff at Ascension Seton in Kyle, Compassus Hospice, Thomason Funeral Home, and Wimberley First Baptist Church. Angels walk among us every day.

Services will be held at Wimberley First Baptist on February 23, 2026 at 10:00 am.

Charles built our home 30 years ago -I remember
going over the home acceptance inspection when
construction was completed -we could not find
a fault! A good man - he helped us build our first
home - to this date. (2026) every thing still works!
Rest in peace Charles. Jose & Patricia Lyon

Charles was a good man who was very talented in a low key sort of way. He designed our beautiful home here in Hays County 24 years ago. We still get rave compliments on it all these years later. He will be missed by all who knew him. RIP Charles!
