David was a great next door neighbor and friend. He used to send the most interesting links to things he found on the web or received from a friend. I always wondered if it were the same friend of several different ones. His passing came while I was away and I regret very much not being at the time. May he rest in peace, leaving fond memories for those of us who knew him. And, may peace come to all of his family members.

So very sorry for the loss of your father. We had talked with him the day before he passed away. He would come and stay with us on several occasions during the year and really enjoyed his visits. We also took several trips together. We helped him move from Pace, Florida to Wimberley , Texas 15 years ago. We live in Pass Christian, Ms. We will miss you Dave but you are on a safe journey now without pain so Rest in Peace and we will see you again someday. Jackie and Billy Sibley.

My best friend for 73 years, David Ross Finn, has now successfully finished his race in this life & what a race it was!!!
We had just spoken with David this past Monday but had to cut it short (only one hour) as he was very busy helping one of his neighbors repair something!
He was upbeat & sounded very happy!
We send our prayers & sincere condolences to Doris, Dwayne, Wanda, Stacey, Tracey & all the Finn family & friends! We pray that our Heavenly Father encourage & comfort each of you during this time of grief & mourning.
I cannot count the the number of times, because there are so many, David (also his Dad-Huck, Mom-Mae Belle) has blessed us, our family & our friends too in so many ways. I was blessed beyond measure with a true friend for 73 years on this earth !!!
I (Ken) first met David in June 1949 @ the "McAllen Labor Camp" located then on North McCall Road @ East Hackberry Street where 50+ families lived. His Dad, Huck, was in-charge of maintenance for the Camp. We have been best of friends ever since then.
David, Joe Smethers & I were known locally as the THREE RASCALTEERS!
Always designing, inventing, building, testing & playing. Once in a while we even got into trouble but David could talk our way out of anything but thankfully, many of our efforts were very successful!!!
We went to church together four times a week (Sunday morning & night; Wednesday night; & Youth Night/Day); worshipped God, our Heavenly Father; played our guitars, fiddle, mandolin, accordion, HOMEMADE glockenspiel, Xylophone, Vibraphone, Marimba & drum instruments; sang loudly even though we could not carry a tune in a bucket.
We invented & created all kinds of games of our & were never bored. (before TV & Internet)
We built our own telephone (2 cans & a long cotton cord) & it really worked! Design-built Bows/arrows, pistols & rifles, fishing poles, Giant Kites (used the kites to take photos from the air); Designed & built model airplanes that could fly; built our own Basketball Court; built our own bicycles from old parts; rode our motorcycles to High School;
Hunted, Trapped & Fished everywhere so we could eat, picked cotton (it paid a penny a pound); ate a lot of Citrus fruit, Cactus apples, Mulberries, Dates, Pecans, & grew our own vegetables. I haven´t even scratched the surface as they say!
The Finn, Smethers & Viken families blessed many, many lives! Thank you, David, for generously pouring out Blessing upon Blessing onto everyone. They all (small & great) are recorded In God´s book of Accounts/Rewards!
David Ross Finn is now resting in complete PEACE, that passes all understanding, in the very presence of his Lord & Savior, JESUS the Messiah. He is experiencing total JOY, that is unspeakable, full of glory & wonderful expectations, satisfying beyond anything even possible on this earth!
The Word of God tells us clearly that one cannot even begin to imagine all that He (God) has prepared for his children & the Family of God!
We expect to see David soon & look forward with exciting expectations. My Grandpa Walter (Mother´s Dad) always advised that "One is truly favored & blessed by God if you have ONE Good True Friend in this lifetime." Thank You David Ross Finn & I ask God to return every blessing a thousand times over to each member of your beautiful family!
Remember, David is now free from all pain & has NO limitations of any kind upon him, now & FOREVER!!!
David we do look forward to being with you soon once again & enjoying ALL of God's Family in that promised NEW Heaven & NEW Earth a real PARADISE FOREVER!!!
Thank you for allowing me to post this. I will never get another chance to do so in this life. Please stay in touch frequently!

It´s been 35 to 40 since the last time that I saw David however I have never forgotten him. David and his family helped me in ways that no one is required to taking me into their family at a time in my teenage years when I was lost and alone. David´s example as a father and a Christian man rooted my life in Christianity. I remember how effortless he played his Fender in church as lead guitar during services, he appeared more relaxed than anyone in the church while he and his fingers were jamming out. The David Finn I remember was a great man of GOD and a great example of a man. Thank you David, I hope to see you again may GOD rest your soul and we will see you sooner than later. GOD Bless you, I love you like a father and a friend.
