Sally Curtis Obituary

Sally Curtis died on February 28, 2025 after a fierce battle with ovarian cancer. Sally Grace Curtis was born on April 16,1952, to parents Grace and Milton Curtis. She graduated from Rockdale High in 1970, earned a BBA from UT Austin in 1975, and then became a Certified Public Accountant. She was the Vice President of Finance and HR at MaxServ in Austin (later bought by Sears) for 8 years until she purchased a small business in 1999. She owned Rancho Deluxe on the Wimberley Square until 2012, buying and selling furnishings, art, books, and jewelry to and from local artisans. Sally then worked for McGinnis & Berger as a Senior Tax Advisor until retirement.

Sally was smart, beautiful, and most of all, kind. She loved kitties and helped every stray (human or animal) she encountered. She lived in the country and fed the deer, raccoons, foxes, frogs, and birds in multitudes.

Her favorite destination was the beach on Port Aransas, where she planned yearly gatherings with her family to swim, get sunburned, eat shrimp enchiladas, kolaches, pies, drink wine, and have fun! She was so FUN--singing along with her favorite album, playing air saxophone, or "just jammin'"! Everything was more fun if Sally was there!

Sally is survived by her brother Patrick Curtis and wife Christie, brother Timothy Curtis and partner Kelly, and sister Susan Curtis Clark Tuttle; nephews John Richard Clark, son Tommy Clark and wife Sierra; Jay Curtis and wife Karla, children Sabrina and Wesley Curtis; Parker Curtis and partner Nikki Ly; nieces Caitlin Curtis, Maren Curtis, Carey Curtis and son Noah, Kierstin Curtis and husband Brandon Abrahamson, as well as by beloved rescue dog Storm. Sisters of the heart include Vicki West Meehan, Virginia Fischer, Debbie Ament, and Cathey Curtis.

Sally requested no memorial service; she wanted people to gather together with loved ones to remember her and to make new memories together. Remembrances for the family may be sent to Weed, Corley, Fish Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 5416 Parkcrest Drive, Austin, Texas 78731. In lieu of flowers, please send a donation to MD Anderson Cancer Center or to your local animal shelter or wildlife preserve.

The world has definitely lost a good soul. Sally was a true friend and we will miss her dearly. She was fun to work with and constantly made us laugh with her sassiness. She is missed already.

Our condolences to Sally´s family. Thanks for sharing her with the rest of us.

So very sorry to hear of the death of my dear friend Sally whom I have known since we were toddlers. We were both members of Brownie Troop 18, St. John 's United Methodist Church, and class mates for 12 years. She was a wonderful person and I will miss her.
