Bessie E. Geesy

1929 - 2018

Bessie E. Geesy, 88, of Winchester, passed away on Thursday, May 24, 2018 at the Reid Hospital in Richmond. She was born on May 29, 1929, in Randolph County, to Charles G. and Rachel R (Longnecker) Retz.
Bessie was a homemaker. She enjoyed working in her yard, Bingo, going out for dinner and puzzle books. Bessie especially enjoyed attending her grandchildren's events. She was an avid Chicago Cubs and Indianapolis Colts fan.
Bessie is survived by her two daughters, Sharon Foudray of Winchester and Debbie (Bob) Perry of Lynn, IN; a son, Floyd D. (Lisa) Geesy of Winchester; son-in-law John Boyd; 12 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Floyd Geesy in 2009; her daughter, Floretta "Fred" Boyd; and her siblings, Nellie E Retz, Walter K. Retz, Ethelyn I Retz, Albert F. Retz, Florence G. Retz, Theodore R. Retz, John C Retz, and Annabelle Retz.
Funeral services for Bessie will be at 3:00 p.m., on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at the Walker Funeral Home in Winchester, with Pastor Kevin Holt officiating. Burial will follow at the Fountain Park Cemetery in Winchester.
Friends and family may call from 12-3 p.m., on Wednesday at the funeral home.
