Carla Keys Obituary

Carla Jeanette Keys, 52, of Winchester, passed away after losing her battle with cancer. She was born July 20, 1959 in Winchester to Carlton R. and Frances J. (Parker) Keys.
She was a 1977 graduate of Winchester Community High School. She had worked at Silver Towne in Winchester and then worked at Wasson's Nursery in Union City, Ind., for more than 20 years. The elder David Wasson was her mentor and Jerry Skiver was invaluable to her. Carla was a member of Jericho Friends Church.
Carla was also an outdoors person and a diehard Colts fan. She loved animals, especially her two cats, Franky and Joey.
Survivors include her mother; two brothers, Jan (Marcia) Keys of Winchester and Randy (Judy) Keys of Winchester; one sister, Bonnie (Paul) Eppert of Harrison, Ohio; a close friend, Glenda Cross of Winchester; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service honoring Carla's life is 11 a.m. Saturday at Jericho Friends Church of rural Winchester with Rev. Martin Wells officiating.
Visitation is 10-11 a.m. Saturday at the church. Walker Funeral Home, Winchester, is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be expressed at www.walkerswinchester.com.
Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to Cancer Services for Randolph County, 133 N. Meridian St., Winchester, IN 47394 or Jericho Friends Church, 4010 E. 100 S., Winchester, IN 47394.
