Paula Snider Obituary

Paula Jean (Poepke) Snider was born to eternal life on Monday, September 22, 2025. Paula was born on February 10, 1947, the second of six children of Paul Kenneth and Patricia Alice (McPeak) Poepke. Paula spent her childhood in New London, WI, graduating from high school in 1965. She and Tom met the night before Thanksgiving 1965 and were married on October 11, 1969. Paula was an LPN and worked at Theda Clark Hospital in Pediatrics from 1968 to 1976. She also worked at Camera and Card and the Toy Box in Neenah, and Morton Pharmacy and Shopko Pharmacy in Winneconne.
Paula was remembered by all who knew her as a kind and beautiful soul, full of light, warmth, and compassion. With her bright smile, welcoming spirit, and genuine kindness, she brought joy to everyone she met and will remain a true gift in the hearts of those who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Together, Paula and Tom raised two sons, Sean Richard, 1972 and Matthew Thomas, 1976, with a stillborn daughter, Michelle Marie being born in 1974.
Paula's passions, in addition to her family, were golfing, reading, gardening, and traveling, including trips to Germany, a cruise to Mexico, trips to Florida, Hawaii, Washington D.C., Las Vegas, Nashville, road trips across country to the Grand Canyon, Yosemite, Yellowstone, Mt. Rushmore, as well as many great trips visiting Sean in California and Matt in Arizona. The flower gardens at their home on Lake Breeze Golf Club were always immaculate.
Paula is survived by her husband, Tom; their sons, Sean (Loyalton, CA), and Matt (Flagstaff, AZ); grandchildren, Natalie Snider (Pine Grove, CA), and Derrick Fischer (Pioneer, CA); sister, Deborah (Bill) Krostue (New London); brother, Paul (Carole) Poepke (Waupaca); and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her father, Paul Kenneth (1961); her mother, Patricia Alice (2025 at 101.5 years old); three sisters, Mary Laubenstein (1992), Jill Kavanaugh (1994), and Kris Gass (2005); and Tom and Paula's stillborn daughter, Michelle Marie (1974).
A visitation will be on Saturday, October 11, 2025, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church 210 Pleasant Dr. Winneconne. A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, October 11 at 11:00 a.m. at the church with Fr. Joe Mattern and Deacon Paul Vidmar officiating. Inurnment in the Winneconne Cemetery will immediately follow the Mass and a luncheon at Off the Wolf in Winneconne to follow.
