Lorraine (Rainy) Warmington Griesel passed on August 29th in Davenport, Iowa. According to her wishes cremation will be accorded. A memorial service will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery at a later date.
Lorraine was born to Leona and William Warmington on September 18, 1928. She was a life-long resident of Winona, moving to Iowa only 15 years ago to have more assistance.
Ms Warmington attended Rollins College in Winter Park Florida.
She married Robert Frederick Griesel in 1947. Together they owned the toys part of.
"Togs and Toys" and later Bob's Marine on the river. They were married 57 years until his untimely death in 2005.
In past years Rainy, was an avid golfer at the Winona Country Club, a member of Grace Presbyterian Church, and was diligent about physical fitness. Additionally, she participated in the hospital auxiliary holiday sales and the Jay Cee's "clothe a child drive."
Rainy loved history, animals, and old movies. Her hobbies included shopping, playing bridge, reading and crossword puzzles. In years past, she had beautiful gardens.
We will miss our matriarch.
We will miss her smile.
We will miss her thoughtfulness.
We will miss her laugh.
Most of all we will miss her love and generosity.
Family was the most important aspect of mom's life. She truly loved her girls, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded by her parents, her sister, (Mary Heise) and her husband.
Robert, she is lovingly survived and will always be remembered by her two daughters Leah (Scott) Featherstone, Davenport Iowa, and Carey Dietz, Cottage Grove, Mn.
Grandchildren: Tate (Amy) Featherstone, Bettendorf, Iowa; Kiley (Barrett) Scorpil, Davenport, Iowa; Alissa Dietz, Las Vegas Nevada; Robert (Julie) Dietz Cottage Grove, Minnesota, Amberly (Christophe)r Williams, Jacksonville, Florida.
In addition, she has 11 great- grandchildren: Avery, Trey, Reese, and Drake Featherstone Bettendorf, Iowa; Ava and Sam Scorpil Davenport, Iowa; Hailey Kenner, Las Vegas Nevada; Gaven, Damen, and Jenna Dietz Cottage Grove, Minnesota; Minka Williams Jacksonville, Florida.
Goodbye mom.
We will love you forever.
