Phillip Schoewe Obituary
Phillip Gregory Schoewe, beloved brother, uncle, and friend to many, passed away on November 5, 2025, in Troy, Ohio, at the age of 74.
Phillip was born on December 22, 1950, in Del Rio, Texas. After his birth, his family was stationed all over the world, which nurtured his curiosity, adaptability, and lifelong appreciation for different cultures. During his youth, Phillip became an Eagle Scout - an achievement that reflected his leadership, service, and commitment to excellence from an early age.
He graduated from Izmir High School in Turkey in 1968 and went on to graduate from St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota in 1972.
Phillip proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1972 to 1978, where he excelled as a T-38 Instructor Pilot. His years in the Air Force reflected his dedication, precision, and deep commitment to service.
During his military career, Phillip attended Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas, where he earned his Juris Doctorate in Law in 1976. He went on to build a respected legal and real estate career, known for his integrity, intellect, and professionalism. His work reflected his belief in fairness, honesty, and helping others navigate life's important decisions.
Phillip will be remembered for his sharp mind, dry wit, and kind heart. He loved the outdoors, especially fishing, and was known for his playful sense of humor - if you weren't watching your drink while out on the water, you might just find a worm in it courtesy of Phillip's mischievous nature.
During his later years, Phillip devoted himself to caring for his father, brother, and sister in Winona, Minnesota. His selflessness and quiet dedication to family were among his greatest expressions of love.
He was a devoted brother, a proud uncle, and a loyal friend who touched countless lives with his warmth, wisdom, and generosity.
He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
An interment service and celebration of his life will be held in the spring in Winona, Minnesota. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity, veterans' organization, or scouting program in Phillip's memory.
