Alice Manuel Gentry, 86, went to be with the Lord February 20, 2023, at Trellis Supportive Care, Winston-Salem, NC. Alice was born August 5, 1936, in Forsyth County to the late William H. Manuel Sr. and Allie Highfill Manuel. Alice was affectionally known as "Sister" to all her family. She graduated from Hanes High School and retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. with 30 years of service. She was married to her soulmate, Lewell F. Gentry for 54 years, who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death were two brothers, Bill Manuel, Jr. and Jim Manuel. Alice is survived by her brother, Lawrence Manuel (Tensi); and sister, Helen McCann; stepmother, Mary Nell Manuel; stepsister, Judy White; and many nieces and nephews. Also surviving are her sister-in-law, Doris Gracy; stepdaughter, Terri Moose; and stepson, Tracy Gentry. A funeral service will be held Saturday, February 25, at 2:00 p.m., at Gentry Family Chapel in Yadkinville, NC, with Jeff McCann presenting the eulogy. Burial will follow at Mountain Park Cemetery, State Road, NC. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:30 p.m. to 1:45 p.m., prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity Elms Nursing Home, 7449 Fair Oaks Dr., Clemmons, NC, 27012.
